Park it

Park it is DoppiNow's parking lot for distractions. It saves a stray thought, or the tab you drifted to, so you can return to your goal without losing it. Everything you park waits in your Later list, on the Later page of your DoppiNow home page (doppinow.com).

How it works

  1. Park from the card

β€œπŸ’ Park it” on the reminder card saves the tab and takes you back.

  2. Or press Alt+Shift+P

It parks the current tab on any web page.

  3. Park a thought

During a session, type a stray thought in the popup and press Enter.

  4. Find it later

It all waits in the Later list on the Progress page. Up to 50 items are kept.

All the details
  1. There are three ways to park something:

    • "πŸ’ Park it" on the reminder card saves the tab and takes you back.
    • Alt+Shift+P on any web page parks the current tab, and takes you back if a related page is open.
    • "πŸ’ Park a thought" in the popup, during a session: type the thought and press Enter.
  2. If you park from the card while nothing related is open yet, the tab is saved first and then closed. From the keyboard, it's only parked.

  3. A quiet toast on the page confirms a parked tab: "Parked for later. It waits in your Later list." A thought parked in the popup gets "Parked for later. Back to your goal." there.

  4. During a break, the popup lists what you parked this session (up to 3 items, each with Done). The recap shows "Parked for later: N" with "See them".

  5. The Later page on your DoppiNow home page shows each item with its site, when you parked it, and the goal you were on. You can Open tabs, tick items off (or undo that) and remove them; the extension follows within seconds. Up to 50 are kept, and parking the same page again moves it to the top.

Settings: Always available, with no setting. Parked items stay in this browser.

Why it helps with ADHD

An adult ADHD CBT programme, tested in an RCT with 86 adults, taught people to "write down distractions vs acting on them" (Safren et al. 2010). "Park it" applies that idea, but the feature itself hasn't been tested.

DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a treatment for ADHD.

Park it: common questions

Where do parked tabs go?

To the Later page of your DoppiNow home page (doppinow.com), where you can open them, tick them off or remove them.

Can I park something without a session?

Yes. Alt+Shift+P parks the current tab at any time. You can type a parked thought in the popup during a session.

Are parked items kept in my account?

Yes: your Later list is kept in your account, so it shows on the website. Tick an item off or remove it there, and the extension does the same.
