The basics

What is DoppiNow?

DoppiNow is a Chrome extension that turns focus into a game for people with ADHD. You write one goal and pick a length. Every focused minute earns XP, unbroken focus builds a combo, and coming back after a drift pays a bonus. When a tab doesn’t fit your goal, you get a gentle nudge instead of a block. DoppiNow is free during early access.

Is it DoppiNow or Doppi Now?

It’s DoppiNow, one word: “Doppi” as in dopamine, “Now” as in now. The name comes from its tagline, “Dopamine, now.” People also write it Doppi Now or Doppinow; it’s the same Chrome extension, made by the team at doppinow.com, that turns focus into a game for people with ADHD.

Is there a Chrome extension for ADHD that doesn’t block websites?

Yes. DoppiNow is a Chrome extension for ADHD that never blocks a website. During a focus session it checks whether each tab fits your goal. When one doesn’t, the page gently ripples and a calm card offers one tap back. Coming back earns +25 XP (the first 8 times per session), and a YouTube lecture that fits your goal counts as focus.

How it works

What is the Comeback ring?

The Comeback ring is DoppiNow’s main number: the focus minutes you reclaim after coming back from a distraction. Time on an unrelated page opens the ring. Every focused minute after you return fills it, and it closes once you’ve reclaimed at least as much time as the distraction took. It shows live in the popup, in each session recap and first on the dashboard.

How does DoppiNow know if a tab is related to my goal?

During a session, DoppiNow checks the tab you’re on against your one goal. Your own site lists and marks come first. If you allow smarter page checks, your goal and a few page details (such as the address, title and main heading) go to DoppiNow’s server, which asks a classification service. Otherwise the check runs on your device with simple word matching. One tap corrects a wrong call.

How do I start a focus session quickly?

To start a DoppiNow session from the keyboard, type dn, a space and your goal in Chrome’s address bar, then press Enter: “dn 25 write the intro” starts a 25-minute session. Alt+Shift+S starts your last goal again, and Alt+Shift+D opens the DoppiNow popup, where you can write a goal and pick 10, 25, 50 or 90 minutes, or an open-ended session.

Does DoppiNow work for studying, coding or writing?

Yes. DoppiNow works for any task you do in Chrome: studying, coding, writing, research or admin. You write the goal in your own words, so a calculus video counts while you study calculus, and documentation counts while you code. Start with a 10- or 25-minute session. Students, developers and writers each have their own page with tips.

Privacy and account

Does DoppiNow read my browsing history?

No. DoppiNow doesn’t ask for Chrome’s history permission and never reads your browsing history. During a session it looks only at the tab you’re on, to check it against your goal. Finished sessions (times, minutes, XP and, if you allow it, the goal) are saved to your account for your dashboard. The full text of a page is never sent, and DoppiNow never sells data.

Do I need an account to use DoppiNow?

Yes. DoppiNow needs an account: you sign in with Google once, with no password to make and no card. The account keeps your XP, streak and history safe and powers your web dashboard, with focus charts led by the Comeback ring. DoppiNow only uses your name, email address and profile picture from Google.

Browsers and languages

Does DoppiNow work in Edge or Brave?

DoppiNow is a browser extension for desktop Chrome 120 or newer (other Chromium browsers such as Edge or Brave may also work). Which languages is DoppiNow in?

DoppiNow is in English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish and Italian. The extension follows your Chrome language, and uses English when that’s none of the six. The website, the dashboard, the feature pages, the free tools and every ADHD article exist in all six languages, and you can switch the site’s language in the footer or the phone menu.

Compared with other tools

How is DoppiNow different from Forest?

Forest grows a virtual tree while you stay focused and is strongest on your phone; leave early and the tree dies. DoppiNow is a Chrome extension that never blocks and never punishes: it rewards every focused minute with XP and pays a bonus when you come back after a drift. Many people could use both: Forest on the phone, DoppiNow in the browser.

How is DoppiNow different from Freedom?

Freedom is a blocker: it shuts out websites, apps or the whole internet across your devices, with schedules and a Locked Mode you can’t quit. DoppiNow never blocks. It checks each tab against your goal, nudges you back when you drift and rewards focus with XP. Choose Freedom for a hard wall, and DoppiNow if blocking backfires or you need YouTube for work.

ADHD and DoppiNow

Is DoppiNow an ADHD treatment?

No. DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a medical device or a treatment for ADHD, and no study has tested DoppiNow itself. It’s built around common ADHD hurdles, such as the pull of instant rewards, time that’s hard to feel, and the shame after a slip. Its articles cite the research behind those ideas. If you think you might have ADHD, talk to a qualified health professional.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to use DoppiNow?

No. You don’t need a diagnosis to use DoppiNow, and it never asks about your health. It’s made with ADHD in mind, but anyone who struggles to start tasks, loses track of time or drifts online can use it. DoppiNow can’t tell you whether you have ADHD; only a qualified health professional can.
