DoppiNow is a Chrome extension that turns focus into a small game for ADHD brains. Every focused minute earns XP, unbroken focus builds a combo, and coming back after you drift earns a bonus. It never blocks a site. The website adds free focus tools, guides on ADHD and focus, and your home page with your progress.
Why we built it
Most focus tools work by taking things away: they block sites, lock your phone, or count how long you held out. For many people with ADHD, that turns into a battle with the tool, and one slip can feel like failing the whole day.
We start from a different idea: drifting is normal, and coming back is the skill. So DoppiNow rewards the moment you return, shows time you can see, and pays off right away instead of weeks later. Our main number, the Comeback ring, measures the focus you win back after a distraction, not how perfectly you avoided one.
What we stand for
- Nudge, never block. A calm reminder and one tap back to your goal. A video that fits your goal counts as work.
- No shame. XP you earned is never taken away. Drifting only melts your combo, slowly.
- Private by design. Your game lives in your browser. Smarter page checks stay off until you allow them, and the full text of a page is never sent. No ads, and we never sell data. The details are in our privacy policy.
- Calm when you need it. Calm mode and your device's “reduce motion” setting turn the animations off.
- Honest about what it is. DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a medical device or a treatment for ADHD.
How we research and write
Our articles and feature pages follow the same rules:
- Every claim has a source, linked where it's made and listed at the end: peer-reviewed research first (with its DOI), then public health bodies such as the NHS, NIMH and CDC, and ADHD organizations such as CHADD.
- We say what a study did and didn't show: how many people took part, whether it was about ADHD at all, and when results didn't replicate. We hedge where the evidence is thin.
- No study has tested DoppiNow itself, and we say so. When an article mentions DoppiNow, it's in a clearly marked box, because we make it.
- No medical advice. Every article ends by pointing to a qualified health professional for diagnosis and treatment.
- Comparisons use each app's own website, with the month we checked it. We don't take payment for placement and there are no affiliate links.
- Pages show when they were last updated, and we revisit them as research changes.
