Note for future you

A note for future you is a one-line note you leave at the end of a session, telling your next self where to pick up. When you later type the same goal, or a similar one, the popup shows "Last time you said: …".

How it works

  1. Leave a note

The recap asks β€œNote for future you: what’s next?” (up to 280 characters).

  2. It saves itself

It saves on Save or when the recap closes. The newest 60 notes stay in this browser.

  3. Type the goal again

The same goal, or one sharing about 60% of its meaningful words, finds the note.

  4. Read, then start

β€œLast time you said: …” appears above the start button.

All the details
  1. The session recap asks "Note for future you: what's next?" and takes up to 280 characters. It saves on its own a moment after you stop typing, when you press Save, and when the recap or the popup closes.

  2. Notes are kept per goal, ignoring case, accents and punctuation. The Turkish "ı" and "i" count as one letter, so "IŞIK" and "ışık" are the same goal. A goal written only in emoji keeps its note too. The newest 60 are kept.

  3. When you type a goal of 3 or more characters, the popup looks for a note on the same goal or a similar one. Goals count as similar when they share about 60% of their meaningful words, with plurals matched. A match shows "Last time you said: …" above the start button.

  4. The wrap-up signal nudges you toward it: "A note for future you helps."

Settings: Optional, in the recap. Notes stay in this browser and are never synced to the dashboard.

Why it helps with ADHD

ADDitude's procrastination guide suggests writing "the next step on a sticky note" (Novotni 2025). That's expert advice, not a study.

No study has tested DoppiNow itself. DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a treatment for ADHD.

Note for future you: common questions

Do I have to type the goal exactly the same way?

No. Similar wording works if enough meaningful words match. For example, "Write the intro" finds a note left on "write intro slides".

Where are my notes kept?

Only in this browser. They aren't sent to the dashboard.
