Wrap-up signal and check-ins
The wrap-up signal and check-ins are DoppiNow's time cues. Five minutes before a timed session of 15 minutes or more ends, a soft "start wrapping up" note appears. In open-ended sessions, a gentle "Still the right thing?" comes every 45, 60 or 90 minutes. Neither one stops your session.

How it works
5 minutes left
In sessions of 15 minutes or more: β5 minutes left β start wrapping up.β
A dusk-blue badge
The toolbar badge stays dusk blue until the end.
Check-ins
In open-ended sessions: βStill the right thing? Water?β every 60 minutes, or 45, 90 or never.
Quiet on purpose
Both are short toasts with no sparkles, and neither one stops your session.
All the details
Wrap-up: in sessions of 15 minutes or longer, a note appears once, at 5 minutes left: "β³ 5 minutes left β start wrapping up. Find a good place to pause. A note for future you helps." The toolbar badge turns dusk blue until the end, except while you're on an unrelated page or on a break.
So 25-, 50- and 90-minute sessions get the wrap-up signal, and 10-minute sessions don't.
Check-in: in open-ended sessions, a check-in comes every 60 minutes by default (or 45 or 90, or never), counted from the start or the last check-in. It says "π§ Still the right thing? Water? Time check: 1 h in."
Both are quiet toasts with no sparkles, about 6 seconds long, on the page you're on. They wait while you're on a break or outside Chrome, and a check-in waits until you're on a web page.
The "Small celebrations on the page" switch doesn't affect them. Each has its own setting.

Why it helps with ADHD
Barkley writes that time, above all, is information that needs to be "externalized" (Barkley). Children and adolescents with ADHD judged time less accurately in a meta-analysis (Zheng et al. 2022). The cues themselves haven't been tested.
DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a treatment for ADHD.
