Comeback bonus
The comeback bonus is DoppiNow's reward for returning after you drift: get back to a related page within 2 minutes of a reminder and you earn +25 XP. DoppiNow rewards the return instead of punishing the slip.

How it works
A reminder opens a window
When a reminder appears, you have 2 minutes.
Come back
Reach any related page in that time, with the cardβs button or on your own.
Earn +25 XP
The first 8 comebacks each session pay +25 XP. Later ones are still celebrated, without XP.
Celebrate
βBack on course!β plays on the page, and the focus after it fills your Comeback ring.
All the details
When a reminder appears, a 2-minute window opens. Time outside Chrome (another app, a locked screen) doesn't use it up. Starting a 5-minute break closes it: breaks earn no XP, so opening your goal's page during one isn't a comeback. The reminder card shows "+25 XP" only while the window is open and the session still pays; once it closes, the card drops it.
Reaching any related page in that window counts as a comeback. It doesn't matter whether you use the card's button or get there on your own. The first 8 comebacks each session pay +25 XP; later ones still count and are celebrated, without XP.
Marking the page you're on as related doesn't count. Going back to a page you marked does.
A small celebration plays on the page, "Back on course!" (or your world's words, like "Back to the books!") with +25 XP and "β© Reclaiming focus", or the session's minutes reclaimed so far ("β© 7 min reclaimed so far", see Comeback ring), and in the popup if it's open.
Comebacks count toward the Comeback badge (your first) and Compass master (10 comebacks). They also appear in the recap ("comebacks +25") and in the logbook on your home page.
Settings: Always on. You can turn off the page celebration in Settings β Your world β "Small celebrations on the page".
Why it helps with ADHD
In a megastudy of 54 interventions with 61,293 gym members, "the top-performing intervention offered microrewards for returning to the gym after a missed workout" (Milkman et al. 2021). That study was about exercise, not ADHD. In four experiments, people prompted to be self-compassionate after a failure were more motivated to improve (Breines & Chen 2012).
No study has tested DoppiNow itself. DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a treatment for ADHD.

Comeback bonus: common questions
Do I lose XP for drifting?
No. XP you've earned is never taken away. Time away only melts your combo, slowly.
Does every comeback count?
Yes. Each reminder opens its own 2-minute window, and every comeback counts toward your badges. The first 8 each session also pay +25 XP.
