Come back · DoppiNow feature

Back to where you were

Back to where you were is the main button on DoppiNow's reminder card. It takes you straight back to the last page that fit your goal. If that page was a YouTube video, it reopens at the second you left.

How it works

  1. DoppiNow remembers

It keeps your last related page and when you left it.

  2. One tap

The reminder card’s main button switches back to that tab, or reopens the page if it moved on or closed.

  3. Videos resume

A YouTube video reopens at the second you left, if you’d watched more than 5 seconds.

  4. A bonus for coming back

Back within 2 minutes of a reminder pays +25 XP (the first 8 times each session).

All the details
  1. DoppiNow remembers your last related page and when you left it.

  2. If that tab is still open on that page, DoppiNow switches to it and brings its window forward. If the tab moved on (for example, the video turned into Shorts) or was closed, the page reopens in that tab or in a new one.

  3. During a session, YouTube positions are saved while you watch, every 10 seconds and whenever you leave the video. They're kept for the browser session, for the last 50 videos. A reopened video starts where you left it, as long as you'd watched more than 5 seconds.

  4. If nothing related was open yet in this session, the button becomes "Close this tab". If it's the window's last tab, a new tab opens first, so the window stays open.

  5. Coming back within 2 minutes of a reminder pays the +25 XP comeback bonus (the first 8 times each session), and the button says so while that window is open (see Comeback bonus).

Settings: Always on.

Why it helps with ADHD

Adults with ADHD report more mind wandering (Mowlem et al. 2019), so DoppiNow treats drifting as expected and makes the way back a single tap. The button itself hasn't been studied.

DoppiNow is a productivity tool, not a treatment for ADHD.
